Youth Action Committee
LD YAC
GOAL
Involve the youth in our community in spreading kindness, encouraging creatively and making our world beautiful. With guidance from the LD Board and Community Engagement Director, YAC will not only assist in LD campaigns and events, but as a youth lead committee, will also develop and lead their own campaigns and events based on the LD mission. As LD YAC grows, we anticipate having YAC include other schools outside of HHS.
Membership
Membership is open to all 8th-12th graders in Livingston County, MI. YAC members that graduate high school are welcome to remain on the committee. Members’ commitment will vary and will be flexible due to their position in the YAC. For example, members on the YAC Council (President, Vice Present, Secretary and Social Chair) will have more responsibilities than a member. Some members will only be able to help in virtual ways due to distance (i.e. college students). YAC communication will be through the GroupMe app and this website.
Benefits
YAC has the opportunity to make real change for themselves, classmates and friends. Additionally, LD is a 501 ( c) (3) non profit, therefore service hours with LD YAC will count towards needed volunteer hours with NHS and other organizations.
